I've been having fun reading some other bloggers NAQ’s lately, I thought I would have some fun and come up with my very own, Never Asked Questions.
1. Why don’t you straighten your hair anymore?
The main reason is that it takes a lot of work. The longer my hair gets, the longer it takes to blow dry and straighten. It’s true I do have the best of both worlds in that I can wear it curly or straight, but I don’t really feel like spending an hour getting ready let alone on my hair.
2. Why do you hate Metallica?
Good question. I have never been able to reason with myself on this one. Based on my library of music (Radiohead, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, the best of 90’s alt-rock et al), one would gather that I would be able to tolerate Metallica. Often, people will say “but what about the Black Album?” NO. Not even the black album. Enter Sandman can Exit Sandman.
3. What’s your favorite color?
It’s always been cyan, but I have been finding myself buying a lot of purple lately. And since I pointed out to Mr. BKL that Marie on Breaking Bad is ALWAYS wearing purple and has purple everywhere in her house, he likes to call me Marie anytime I am wearing anything purple.
4. Why do you hate iceberg lettuce?
Okay, this has actually been asked of me. But not often. To me, it’s a giant waste of space. And when people say it doesn't’ taste like anything I either say “exactly” or “yes, it tastes like dirt” depending on the quality of ‘berg we are talking. Standard wedding reception dinner salad: grade ‘F’. Organic, vegan, baby seal iceberg: grade ‘E’. There is no grade ‘A’.
5. Why aren’t you going to the Minnesota State Fair this year?
A) Crowds. I get claustrophobic around strangers. B) It’s expensive. You have to pay an entrance fee and that gets you into some exhibits. C) It will be there next year, and the next, and the next after that and will probably be the exact same thing. D) Novelty fried foods do nothing for me.
6. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
Right now I am using Morocconoil brand. It’s pretty amazing. It’s smells awesome and is sulfate, paraben, and allthatotherbadstuff free.
7. What does a typical week day look like for you?
5:40am – wake up, shower, get ready, have cup of liquid gold i.e. coffee
6:45-7am – drive to work
7:00-7:15am arrive at work
11:30am-12:00pm - lunch at my desk, read blogs, twitter etc.
4:30-5pm - leave work
5-5:15pm – get ready for running/workout
5:15-6pm – running/workout
6:15pm – shower
6:30-7:30pm – make/eat dinner
7:30-8pm – dishes, laundry general house upkeep
8pm-10pm – reading, hopefully watching one of the following: Dexter, Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, True Blood, Entourage, Breaking Bad, Real Housewives series
That last one threw you for a loop, eh?
8. What’s your favorite movie?
I don’t have one. I have lots of favorite comedies like Anchorman, but even that I can only see every year or so. I don’t understand watching movies over and over again. I have never watched a movie and said “I MUST watch it again!” At least not since I turned 15.
9. If hockey is your favorite sport, why didn't you play?
When I was a child, there were a total of one girl my age that played hockey. As I got older, more girls started playing at a young age, but it was almost too late for me. It really is unfortunate because at the time I was in high school, many of the D-1 women’s programs were just beginning and if you were even a mediocre skater, you had a good shot at playing. Of course, my sister joined her first all girls team around age 10 (I think). I envy all that the sport has given her. Not that my experiences in soccer and track weren’t great, there is just a bond I see with those girls that I wish I would have had.
10. What was your first car?
1989 Toyota Camry, baby. With the console power button. If you had one, you know what I’m talking about. The above photo says 1987, but mine looked identical – same color and all. It got amazing gas mileage.
