Technical Difficulties

We seem to be having some technical difficulties at our house. First, the vacuum cleaner simply stopped working. As in it won't turn on. Fun!

A few hours later, my COMPUTER wouldn't turn on. It is pretty ancient, at the ripe old age of 4.25 years. I still remember the day I got it like it was yesterday. Oh wait...it almost was. I hate computers. I would go Apple but then my brain would be fried from working on a PC all day then going to a Mac. Not to mention they are ridiculously priced.

I was planning on writing a nice little vacation recap post with pretty pictures, but since the pictures are in the computer, it will have to wait until I can extract the hard drive and do this with the rest of it:

So expect me to ask for advice soon on a laptop that will last at least 4 years - maybe more. Say it could be so!

So let's go on with a random things I am loving right now post!

MorocconOil Shampoo and Conditioner - My lovely sister in law gave me some travel sized bottles of this to try and I love it. It smells amazing. It's a bit pricey, but since I don't wash my hair everyday it will last me a long time.

Cherries - I could do without the pits, but whenever they come into season it's one fruit I look forward to. Otherwise I am not a big fruit lover. Mostly because it always goes bad on me.

Sweet Chili Thai sauce - I made Thai Chicken pizza again on Friday for my in-laws. This is my attempt at recreating Old Chicago's Thai Pie. I might try fashioning this sauce into some kind of noodle dish next.

For the pizza, use Mark Bittman's dough recipe.
For the toppings, I used:

-the sauce recipe above, divided - set aside about 1/4 cup
-2 grilled chicken breast, diced
-1 red pepper, diced
-1/2 a head of broccoli florets chopped into small pieces
-cheese (duh)

Once the dough has risen, shape onto pizza stone or pans sprinkled with cornmeal. Spread chili sauce over the top. Add cheese, chicken, and veggies. Drizzle with remaining chili sauce. Bake until cheese is golden and crust is done to desired likeness.

Breaking Bad - the season 4 premiere was last night! It delivered.  I have to say this is becoming one of my favorite shows of all time. Chuck Klosterman wrote a great article about it and some of my other favorite shows. I agree with what he says about Breaking Bad being the best of these 4 shows.

True Blood - We are watching the 3rd season on DVD right now. I was VERY hesitant about this show at first. I had a hard time getting into the sci-fi/fantasy aspect of it, but it's definitely got me hooked.
