Great wide open

Instead of the usual Christmas photos so many of us have, I am going to share some photos I took on our drive on Christmas day and then again two days later. Quite a contrast between the two days. Our drive through North Dakota on Christmas day was quite pretty. The sky was the same color as the snow and all the trees had been coated with frost amongst the foggy haze.  Now, these were taken out the window of a moving vehicle so they aren’t that amazing, but I think they tell the story.

For the ride home, we were up before the sun and were treated with a neat sunrise. The crisp clear day was a vast contrast to the previous trip on the same road.  Only the Great Plains, where you can see forever, can you capture such a winter morning.

Creepy robot-like Santa, circa 1982 with still working music and walking shuffle, says “Ho Ho Hope you had a Merry Christmas!”
